Bio

Jennifer LaCava is a fine artist, photographer and art educator who resides in Bayville, New York. She is an art teacher at Hicksville High School. Jen has worked in creative fields all of her life; publishing, small creative business owner, faux painter, private art tutor, and so on. Currently, Jen teaches studio in art, darkroom photography, and digital photography. She has instructed students of all ages in variety of courses including painting, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. In 2011, she received a BFA in Visual Art Education from New York Institute of Technology and was honored with the Dean's Award for Excellence. She graduated summa cum laude from Long Island University with her Master’s Degree in Studio Art in May 2015. Jen continues to passionatly explore possibilities in art education while satisfying her vast curiosities as an artist and photographer. Jen is an active member of New York State Art Association, NAEA, and the Bayville Art Council. In 2022, Jennifer recieved the honor of NYSATA's teacher of the Year for Region 9, Nassau County.
